Toureen is awarded the Silk Stream project by St. George to deliver significant substructure works, including the construction of three reinforced concrete (RC) frame towers and a four-storey podium. The award follows the successful delivery of enabling works, including the decommissioning of a former petrol filling station, as well as the remediation and excavation of the existing car park.

Working closely with our client, Toureen Remediation and Blu-3 UK have collaboratively reviewed the earthworks design and implemented value engineering across all aspects of the project’s earthworks scope.

River Academy provides much-needed school places for up to 1,500 pupils. The site, which was previously used as a landfill and driving range, requires extensive remediation to make it suitable for development. This includes mitigating human health risks and managing ground conditions to reduce flood risk, as the site lies within Flood Risk Zone 3.

Toureen Contractors were engaged by Berkeley Southern to undertake the final demolition works at the Worthing site and to manage site remediation in accordance with the approved strategy developed by Berkeley Consultants and Rombout.

Being a Grade I listed building posed a few challenges particularly in relation to the basement work which required bulk excavation and disposal of 30,000m³ arisings through preformed mole holes. Facilitating the excavation re-quired the design, installation, and subsequent removal of temporary piles, needles and props of up to 35m in length and weighing up to 20 tonnes.

Toureen recently delivered a new build tile production facility for Wienerberger in Sittingbourne. The facility is to significantly increase their production capacity by enabling it to develop more tile formats to meet increased demand.
