Our award-winning remediation division offers innovative solutions to land in need of regeneration, from soil stabilisation to groundwater treatment and materials management
-
Soil Stabilisation
Soil stabilisation provides a mechanism by which to modify site won soils to fulfil a geotechnical material need.
Often used in piling platforms, soil stabilisation allows existing site won soils to be strengthened and used in lieu of imported aggregate and thereby avoids disposal, limits the need for import ultimately saving cost and time while reducing traffic impact and mitigating the GHG associated with landfill, haulage and import. -
HEIC Dynamic Compaction
Dynamic compaction serves two main functions namely, improving the load bearing capacity of the existing site soil make up and compressing the site level to limit surplus soil in cut/fill quantum.
This technique is particularly well suited to historic landfill sites which pose a significant long term differential settlement risk and
additionally attract high costs in disposal.• Induce settlement
• Reduce foundation build up
• Advanced telemetry -
Land Raise Surcharge
Similar to dynamic compaction, surcharge schemes serve to apply a load to induce settlement and increase soil bearing capacity while reducing subsequent disposal.
This technique is often undertaken in conjunction with vertical drainage to accelerate primary consolidation.
It is specifically well suited to larger sites where high groundwater levels limit dynamic or traditional compaction efforts.
• Mitigate residual differential settlement
• Minimise disposal
• Minimise foundation -
Materials Management
An understanding of the difference between a waste and a material is, perhaps, the single biggest cost contributing factor to earthworks/remediation projects.
Understanding how design can incorporate site won materials, how those material can be generated on site as well as the legal framework governing the definition of waste is the key to a sustainable, cost effective and socially responsible project.
Toureen Remediation have a legacy of utilising DoWCoP to enable reuse, fundamental to a large proportion of successful projects.
• Minimise disposal
• Maximise reuse
• Statutory compliance -
Soil And Water Treatment
Risk to controlled waters risk is often a primary driver towards statutory contaminated land designation under Part 2A of the EPA.
With a strong foothold in the petrochemical and fuel distribution industry Toureen Remediation have invested heavily in the groundwater impact assessment and treatment inlcuding;
• Strong working relationships with our clients/consultants
during DQRA assessments
• Robust in-situ and ex-situ
groundwater treatment capabilities
• Soil treatment options to reduce leachability and percolation -
Groundwater Treatment
We offer cutting-edge techniques for groundwater management, including:
• NAPL/free product recovery
• Chemical injection and oxygen release compounds
• Ex-situ pump and treat
• Barrier systems including cut-off walls and permeable reactive barriers
• Pioneering clean telescopic piling technique
• PFAS confinement / encapsulation
