COSTCO CAR PARK & PFS

Toureen was appointed as Main Contractor to deliver a series of complex improvement works to a live Costco store and Costco’s European Headquarters under a Design and Build contract. The phased project included a new upper-deck car park, petrol filling station, two-storey office extension and upgrades to existing parking areas, alongside extensive services infrastructure. Works were carefully coordinated to maintain full business continuity throughout the project.

The project was delivered in carefully managed phases. The first phase involved the isolation of part of the existing car park and the construction of a new upper-deck car park, increasing on-site parking capacity. The second phase comprised the construction of a new petrol filling station, followed by a two-storey office extension integrated with the existing store and headquarters facilities. The final phase involved the progressive upgrade and enhancement of the remaining car parking areas.

The scope of works also included the installation of a new pump house, LV switch room and sprinkler tanks, requiring extensive services coordination within a live operational environment.

Key Achievements

All phases were delivered while maintaining a fully operational, high-occupancy retail store.

Business continuity was maintained for both the UK store and Costco’s European Headquarters.

Extensive out-of-hours working minimised disruption to customer and operational activity.

Complex services coordination was successfully managed across multiple work fronts within a constrained site.

The project was safely delivered in a live environment with no impact on day-to-day operations.
