BIG YELLOW WEST STORE
Toureen was appointed as Main Contractor to deliver the detailed design and construction of a new Big Yellow Self Storage facility, including the building shell and associated external and highway works. The project involved extensive ground improvement, a bespoke elevated reinforced concrete slab and the construction of a complete self-storage facility, including the structural frame, building envelope, MEP installations and external infrastructure.
Toureen was appointed as Main Contractor to undertake the detailed design and construction of the building shell for a Big Yellow Self Storage facility, together with all associated external and highway works.
The scope of works included extensive ground improvement measures and the construction of a bespoke elevated reinforced concrete slab, supported on precast concrete beams and metal decking, to create a compliant flood plain. The superstructure comprised a structural steel frame, followed by the installation of a proprietary roofing and cladding system and a high-quality brickwork façade incorporating brick slip cladding.
The building envelope was completed with curtain walling systems, external doors, feature entrance canopies, and associated mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) installations.
External works formed a significant element of the scheme and included the construction of a reinforced concrete car park incorporating a vehicular ramp, together with associated drainage, below-ground services, and highway interface works.
