Clarendon Riverside Centre is a new purpose-built Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) facility in Richmond, providing a dedicated learning environment for up to 78 pupils with complex needs and moderate learning difficulties. The development includes purpose-built classrooms, specialist teaching spaces, therapy rooms and sensory and outdoor areas designed to support the needs of its pupils.
Toureen was responsible for the complete groundworks, utilities and drainage infrastructure, reinforced concrete frame and hard landscaping through to completion. The project began in June 2025 and was delivered in two phases, with the groundworks and concrete frame completed in autumn 2025 before Toureen returned in summer 2026 to complete the hard landscaping.
A key challenge was working to a demanding programme to ensure the facility was ready for the 2026/27 academic year, while also working within strict delivery restrictions due to the site’s close proximity to a neighbouring school. Careful planning and coordination were required throughout the works to maintain progress and meet the project’s programme.
