New Clarendon Centre

Toureen has played its part in delivering the new Clarendon Riverside Centre in Richmond, providing the reinforced concrete frame, groundworks, utilities and drainage infrastructure, and hard landscaping as the new SEND facility approaches completion.

The new Clarendon Riverside Centre in Richmond is approaching its opening, providing a purpose-built facility designed to support local pupils with complex needs and moderate learning difficulties.

Toureen has delivered the reinforced concrete frame, complete groundworks, utilities and drainage infrastructure, and hard landscaping through to completion.

The project began in June 2025 and was delivered in two phases from Toureen’s perspective. The first phase included the groundworks and reinforced concrete frame, which were completed in autumn 2025. The team then returned in summer 2026 to complete the second phase of hard landscaping.

A demanding programme was one of the key challenges throughout the project, with the new school required to be ready to open and operate for the 2026/27 academic year. The team also worked within strict delivery restrictions due to the site’s close proximity to a neighbouring school, requiring careful planning and coordination throughout the works.

The new centre will provide up to 78 places for local pupils, with purpose-built classrooms, specialist teaching spaces, therapy rooms and dedicated sensory and outdoor areas. The new facilities have been designed to provide a supportive environment tailored to the needs of the pupils who will use them.

As the project approaches its opening, Toureen is pleased to have contributed to the delivery of an important new facility that will provide long-term benefits for local pupils, families and the wider community.

A great effort from everyone involved in bringing the new Clarendon Riverside Centre to life.
